"Aunt Col, I keep hearing everyone say I have 'old man hair'. I'm not sure what that is, but it MUST be good because it makes all the ladies laugh and pet my head and give me kisses..." - Shane (10 months old)
Although I did lug my camera with me practically every single day in September, I rarely actually took it out and used it. I do that sometimes. I go through phases. My camera phone, on the other hand, got a lot of use. I suppose at times I find it hard to juggle between the two cameras when it comes to taking everyday photos. But considering October is my favorite, I don't foresee myself neglecting my Canon this month!
With that being said, the blog has been quiet and so here is a recap of September through my camera phone...
I had a really good summer. I started writing a blog post about my own personal "Highlights of Summer 2013", but halfway through it I didn't feel like doing it anymore. I think it's because I'm ready for fall, for it's my favorite. Or maybe it's just because I'm feeling lazy. Either way, Summer 2013 was way good to me and I'm looking forward to greeting fall in a week and a half.
And that's all I got because I'm feeling lazy. There, I admitted it. I just feel like shutting my brain off and watching Twilight. Don't judge.
Yesterday was Thursday. And Thursday was wonderful. It was such a GOOD studio day. Oh how I wish this was my every day.
I was on the go from 6:30 am yesterday to 12:30 am today. Around 3:00 pm I felt a bit worn out so I took a break to do my pilates (something I'm doing now and LOVE) and I almost fell asleep on my mat after I was finished. So after my shower I poured myself some more caffeine, for I had a LOT more to do. Like photograph and list these suckers...
I can't wait to do more color combinations with these cameras. By late morning I was getting sad because I was running out of canvas, but then VOILA! ...the dogs are barking like crazy, I run upstairs, look out the window, and see that a big box was just delivered to my porch filled with canvas. Magic trick.
I plugged in my memory card the other night and chuckled at the photos we took Saturday night at my brother & sister-in-law's. It was just the four of us--sitting around their new kitchen table--drinking, eating, and amusing ourselves. These pictures are probably only a 10 minute window of our night.
...well, some of them. But this will be the last post about our vacay in Florida. I think. It took me a few days to get to this since I'm back to the real world now doing real world things. Plus, we had several orders to fill that sold while we were away :-)
^ I'm huddled in the middle.
^ We had amazing thunderstorms. John and I were up with our cameras & tripod at midnight.
The end. Previous Florida posts here, here, here, & here. And if you look far enough back into the archives, you can even find last year's trip, ha.
I have one more to share from our little backyard photo shoot...
^ Jackie Cat! If only Charley was there, then we'd have a family portrait going on.
After the playing around in the backyard, we went out for sushi with John's mom. Tokyo Bleu! It's our favorite.
Then we drove by the river. The Delaware River: Disgusting in the daytime, beautiful at night. We also had a bonfire and eventually wandered to the bar down the street. It was a fun, but very late night.
I woke up at 5am today, way before my alarm clock and ready to get things done. Weird. By 9am I had accomplished a lot on my to do list. Felt good. I also framed and hung this photo of our dear Heidi Girl. I still miss her so. Now at least I can see our goofy dog on my wall every day :-)
George was just chillin', as usual.
Katie came home from school today very happy!
Watching the movie "Elf" for the 700th time.
This afternoon I decided to try out a pumpkin cream cheese recipe. You can find it here!
I ended up putting more pumpkin puree and actually adding some sugar to the mix. I realized I wanted more of a sweet cream cheese/pumpkin pie taste. It's very good!
Tomorrow I'm making something special for the family for dinner. I made it once before last year and have been getting requests since to make it again. Stay tuned!
Although I'm not a big fan of Mondays, this one was very productive. And being productive is such a great feeling.
And now I'm ready to lay in bed with either the lap top or a book. I just finished getting an East Coast Love matted print ready for shipping to Massachusetts and an abstract guitar photograph ready to be sent down under! Another Australia sale :-)
Some little girl was playing on my stairs while I was doing that.
And now I'm trying to pay bills online and throw the football for Charley at the same time. Just can't resist that face.
